Smells in your home or business can be a noticeable sign that your air is not as clean and healthy as it should be. There are also other less obvious signs of poor air quality, which include:
• Dry and irritated eyes, nose, throat or skin
• Frequent nosebleeds
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Shortness of breath
• Allergies and rashes
• Sinus congestion
• Coughing and sneezing
• Dizziness
• Nausea
When you’re running cooling or heating equipment, your home is closed tight, lessening outside air flow. All of this concentrates the bad stuff – allergens, pollutants and chemical fumes – inside your home.
To give your family the best air quality possible, we recommend an air scrubber.
Maertin Heating & Cooling installs Aerus air scrubbers, containing a reactive metal that produces antimicrobial agents that, when released into the air, destroy pathogens on contact. When someone indoors coughs or sneezes, any germs, bacteria and viruses in that exhalation are killed almost instantly. Aerus air scrubbers will remove over 98% of any E.Coli and 99.8% of any MRSA found in the air and on surfaces, providing your family a sanctuary from illness.
Aerus air scrubbers also filter out particulates like pollen, pet dander and mold spoors and is one of the only air scrubbers certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. Aerus air scrubbers are commonly used in mold remediation. If you’ve purchased a house that was formerly home to smokers, air scrubbers can get rid of that lingering odor, along with animal and cooking odors.
Air scrubbers are just 8.5” x 8.5” x 11” and will be installed in your air handler. One air scrubber is needed for every 2,000 sq.ft. of living space. Air scrubbers don’t require a filter change, but the bulb will need to be replaced about every two years.
Maertin Heating & Cooling can make sure your outdoor air intake is unobstructed, clear and working properly to bring fresh outdoor air into your HVAC system. We can install a whole house humidifier to increase moisture in the air throughout your home, which will also help control dust mites, molds and mildews or a whole home ventilation system.
